“Topology” exhibition at Remuera Galllery

A new exhibition by French artist Olivier Duhamel and Fiona Jelicich opens on Bastille Day, Sunday 14 July at 3pm.  Olivier Duhamel is regarded as one of the most talented figurative sculptors in New Zealand.  Breaking away from his usual medium, Olivier’s recent works explore the ‘Topology’ of the human form by reconstructing bodies from sheets of laser cut plywood.  For Fiona Jelicich’s debut Auckland show, she has executed a body of bold, evocative canvases that explore the theme of ‘Topology’ and the deconstruction of the land.

Remuera goes French for July!

ImageBonjour July!  Remuera will become a French village again this July, and we’ll be celebrating Bastille Day on Saturday 13 July from 10am – 2pm with a street festival.  Bring your friends and family to enjoy French music, street entertainers, French Can Can, French Jive, mime artists, fencing demonstrations, a fashion parade of French poodles and French wine and food.  This year you can decorate your bike in red, white and blue for the chance to win a brand new Kona Africabike 3 from Bike Barn.  Alliance Francaise will have French storytelling for children at Remuera Library and kids will also enjoy the chance to take part in a French Waiters Race at Seedling.  Plus when you shop in Remuera during July there’s a chance to win a trip for two to the French Poynesian paradise of Tahiti, including four nights in Moorea!  For more information and a full Bastille Day programme visit http://www.remuera.org.nz.  A bientot!
